Silver objects conserved for the exhibition of Matthew Boulton; silver examples from a total of 26 pieces (different media)

A variety of objects were treated for the exhibition of Matthew Boulton. Below are examples of silver pieces treated by (formerly) V A Conservation. There were 26 objects in total.

Lionshead candlestick - for the detached base Paraloid B72 dissolved in conservation grade acetone was used. All the original pieces of plaster were assembled, put into their original places and adhered together with the round base. Flagon - silver tarnish was gently removed with conservation grade solvents on cotton wool and a silver cloth. Other silver objects such as dinner plates were treated in a similar manner.
