Flagstaff / Flagpole Base

Historic plaster copy of a Roman flagstaff; collection of Lord Rothschild

Extensive structural and surface restoration treatment of a plaster flagpole base (flagstaff) was undertaken as well as creating an independent support for a table top. The treatment involved the following: 1) surface cleaning - phase one, 2) surface cleaning - phase two, 3) structural repair of broken and missing plaster sections, 4) structural repair of inner wooden support, 5) creating a metal armature (independent of an existing wooden one) in order to create a solid support base for a round glass top
